Centers & Institutes: Institute of Ergonomics

The new Ergonomics Institute at Life West is dedicated to the study, development and implementation of ergonomics solutions to keeping people healthier and more productive on the job and in every area of life.
Ergonomics is a truly multi-disciplinary field that draws on the expertise of many seemingly diverse professions including, but not limited to engineers, healthcare practitioners, human resource professionals, educators and others.
The doctor of chiropractic is optimally positioned to provide vital input into the greater development and progress of this field of study and service. 
The mission of the institute is multifaceted:

  • To provide a setting for research into ergonomics designs and processes through collaborative efforts between research professionals, Life West and businesses.
  • To train and develop Life West students in ergonomics principles and methods to support improved health.
  • To provide post-graduate educational opportunities to chiropractors and other professionals in ergonomics principles and practices to improve health and to promote interdisciplinary cooperation and understanding in the field.
