Annual Golf Classic, a fundraiser for Life West, set for May 7

Participants in Life West's annual Alumni + Friends Golf Classic tee off at Boundary Oak Golf Course in Walnut Creek.

This year’s Life West Alumni and Friends Golf Classic will be held at Boundary Oak Golf Course in Walnut Creek again. Join Life West, along with other alumni and friends, for the 36th annual Golf Classic, which raises funds for scholarships while offering an opportunity to enjoy a day on the links.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 7. Teams of four will play an 18-hole scramble with a 1 pm shotgun start, and a tournament awards dinner is planned after the round. Proceeds from the Golf Classic benefit the Alumni Association Scholarship Program, and dinner-only tickets are also available for purchase.

This year’s Golf Classic will also feature the return of an after-dinner drawing, where those who purchase tickets are eligible to win prizes. These include golf equipment and accessories, as well as items and experiences donated by members of the Life West community.

The 2019 Golf Classic raised nearly $21,000 for the scholarship program, with the winning team posting an impressive 18-hole score of 57 (14 under par). Prizes given away at the drawing included a sauna donated by Life West alumnus Raleigh Duncan, DC, which was won by recent graduate Kris Nguyen, and a one-hour flight over the Bay Area piloted by former Alumni Association President Eric McKillican, DC.
