Making a difference. Improving quality of life. Helping people live better lives.
These are the motivating factors for sharing chiropractic care, which ties in closely with the Salutogenic model of health care, the theme of The WAVE 2019 in Oakland, California, in August. The WAVE is Life Chiropractic College West’s annual conference.
Salutogenesis is an approach focusing on the dynamics that support human health and well-being, rather than a pathogenic strategy that concentrates solely on the causes of diseases. Lona Cook, DC, will talk about how a Salutogenic approach can change lives during her presentation at The WAVE.
With three successful practices up and running in Wisconsin, Dr. Cook, who graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Northwestern Health Sciences University, is the author and co-author of several books and other resources that help beginning chiropractors kick-start their practice, as well as teach existing chiropractic teams how grow and improve their effectiveness. As a board member of the Chiropractic Society of Wisconsin, Cook also mentors young chiropractors and has created a women’s seminar—EVOLVE. She is involved in a chiropractic project within her neighboring school district and speaks nationally, spreading the message of better living through chiropractic care.
Embracing the profound vitalistic methodology both in life and in her practices, Cook will be discussing its power to transform patient lives at The WAVE 2019. Her talk, “ADIO – Seeing the Intelligence in Everything,” will explore how the Salutogenic philosophy can be applied to a person’s life. She also discusses the chiropractor’s role as a facilitator of “intelligence,” that internal sense that helps patients realize their own potential to grow and heal themselves.
With a strong passion to communicate the benefits of proactive care and help families take active roles in their own health goals, Dr. Cook’s enthusiasm for vitalistic chiropractic is both provoking and motivational. See her speak at The WAVE 2019. Haven’t registered yet? Go to lifewestwave.com.
