A good time was had by all on May 9 at Boundary Oak Golf Course in Walnut Creek, where friends of Life Chiropractic College West gathered for the  35th Annual Alumni + Friends Golf Classic.

Golfers were greeted by sunny skies and beautiful weather as they hit the links for an 18-hole scramble. The event also featured two meals, a putting contest and a raffle that boasted several prizes donated by generous supporters of the college.

In total, the event raised approximately $21,000. Proceeds will benefit the Alumni Association Scholarship Program.

“We had a great turnout,” Life West Vice President of Institutional Advancement Mark Zeigler, D.C., said. “We raised a lot of money for scholarships, and we had a lot of support and enthusiasm from our alumni base.”

The raffle’s grand prize was a sauna donated by Dr. Raleigh Duncan, a 2000 Life West alum who manages the company Clearlight Infrared Sauna. The sauna, valued about $6,000, was won by Life West student Kris Nguyen.

Other raffle prizes included a one-hour flight over the Bay Area piloted by Eric McKillican, D.C., who is the president of the Life West Alumni Association. Additional items raffled off included a new chiropractic table, several bottles of imported wine and first-rate golf equipment.

The team of James Barrett, Max Wilkinson, Bob Thompson, and Steve Hall took first place in the scramble. The foursome posted an impressive 18-hole score of 57 (15 under par).
