No Ordinary Moments

Rest in Peace Frank Sovinsky, DC

The chiropractic profession is in shock and deep sadness with the sudden passing of a great chiropractor, Frank Sovinsky, this weekend.

When I arrived in the US in early 2011, Frank was the first speaker I heard speaking at a Friday seminar. I was struck by his depth of intellect, his humor, his deep understanding of chiropractic, and his genuine desire to help others.

Over the past four years, our relationship has developed and Frank has become an incredible friend and confidante.

Always optimistic, upbeat and smiling, you could rely on Frank to constantly challenge you.

One of his passions was to revive a generation of chiropractors. He did this by tirelessly sharing his powerful message with audiences around the world.

Frank’s book collection was vast. He always had some new insights from the latest book he had read, and was excited to share this knowledge.

Not many chiropractors have authored two books and Frank made a huge impact as an author. In his 2002 book, Life: the Manual he says “From this point forward, there can be no ordinary moments”.

Frank was the only chiropractor in the world to co-author a book with business guru, Michael Gerber. The E-Myth Chiropractor provides insights of which continue to help thousands of chiropractors every day.

A 1981 graduate of Palmer College, Frank was always willing to support students, chiropractors and chiropractic colleges. He served Life West in many ways, including speaking at the WAVE, Friday seminars, and business classes and a recent business curriculum review committee.

Frank was a very popular speaker at chiropractic events throughout the nation, and a sought after international speaker.

We reach out with our deepest respect to Cathy, his loving wife, an incredible person who was his soul mate and best friend. She is also a blessing to our profession.

Many chiropractors I have spoken with have shared outpourings of grief at the suddenness of his passing. When I visited him in hospital last week, it was clear that his body was in crisis.

I have thought about him every hour since his passing. Maybe he felt his work here was done. Maybe he got frustrated at the lunacy in chiropractic, and the wasted energy spent pointing fingers at each other.

Then I thought, maybe he just wanted to hang out with Sigafoose and take the conversation to a new level.

May you be in peace my friend. Here’s to ….’no ordinary moments’.
