A formal investiture was held at the Standard Process Assembly Hall for Dr. Ron Oberstein, as he was sworn in as the third President of Life Chiropractic College West.
Many guests and dignitaries, including numerous family, friends and colleagues, filled the assembly hall to celebrate the momentous and ceremonial event. Local dignitaries including City of Hayward Mayor Barbara Halliday and California State Senator Bob Wieckowski were also in attendance for the festivities.
The ceremony began with a procession of Dr. Oberstein and his honored guests lead by Life West student, Amit Khimji, playing the bagpipes. The Life West faculty and administrators were present in full academic regalia to honor and witness the investiture of Dr. Oberstein.
The Master of ceremonies for the evening was Dr. Mark Zeigler, Life West Vice President of Institutional Advancement. The evening was filled with warm congratulatory speeches with very special keynote speakers – Dr. Oberstein’s three daughters — Drs. Lauren, Morgan and Sydney — and his wife Dr. Mary Oberstein. Each shared moving personal stories illustrating Dr. Oberstein’s attributes of loving service, perseverance, and commitment to the chiropractic profession.
The Chair of the Life West Board of Regents, Dr. Jimmy Nanda, had the pleasure of administering the oath to Dr. Oberstein, anointing him as the third president of Life West. Dr. Oberstein then gave his inaugural address to his honored guests.
Dr. Oberstein thanked the administration, faculty and staff at Life West, “as they are the ones who bring ‘life’ to the name Life Chiropractic College West,” stated Dr. Oberstein.
Dr. Oberstein also extended his gratitude to former predecessors, Dr. Gerry Clum and Dr. Brian Kelly – for helping built the powerful foundation of Life West.
The investiture culminated with a musical performance by vocalist Michelle Jordan and pianist Vanessa Wynn, performing God Is.
A reception followed the ceremony at the Hayward City Hall to celebrate this momentous day.
