COVID-19 Update: April 7, 2020

Life Chiropractic College West - Northern California

As we are mostly studying or working from home, we can encounter issues and feelings of isolation, frustration or restlessness. The following are some handy tips for us all provided by Life West HR Director Tarsha Addison.

Self-Care & Mental Well-Being

To enhance our self awareness and well-being, ideas to consider implementing in your daily routine may include getting plenty of sleep, eating nutritious foods, meditating and exercising. The most obvious of all is keeping your nervous system free of interference so you can express your optimal potential, so let’s stay subluxation-free.

Here are several other measures to consider.

Acknowledge your emotions: Allow yourself to feel. Feeling our emotions is part of the healing process. If you feel anxious, limit the time you spend watching or reading the news. This may cause or increase distress.

Stress: Take a break to do something relaxing. Move your body. Read a book or poem. Watch one of your favorite television shows, movies, series or documentaries.

Empathy: Be empathetic to those around you who may have higher levels of stress and anxiety.

Language: Be thoughtful and sensitive about the words you use when referring to those who may have COVID-19 or individuals who are being treated for or recovering from COVID-19.

Socialize: Be sure to connect with others and spend time in meaningful or leisurely conversation.

By taking the above measures, you will help to ensure that you are being the very best version of yourself. Thank you for helping Life West and keeping your community safe and healthy.
