Important Coronavirus Information

Life West administration wants to inform our community that to date there are no coronavirus (or COVID-19) cases in Alameda County and we are considered to be in a low-risk area.

The steps each of us should take around campus, and especially in the Health Center, are to be sure we are employing standard hygiene practices, including washing hands and ensuring that your mouth and nose are covered when sneezing and coughing. If you are showing signs or symptoms of the cold or flu, take proper precautions. If you have a fever, do not come to school or work, or to the Health Center if you are taking care of patients.

The Facilities Department has been using an ultrasonic sanitizing tool to sanitize the Fitness Center plus every adjusting table, classroom desk and cafe table on campus during each quarter break. That tool is rated to kill COVID-19 and the schedule has now been changed to have this done each Saturday by our Facilities staff. Sanitizing was done this last Saturday and will repeat every Saturday. It will include the Fitness Center, every adjusting table, classroom desk, cafe table, meeting table and staff/faculty office room.

While we are not in a high-risk area, we do want to be careful and responsible. If you have concerns, you can address them with the Health Center Administration doctors (Dr. Donaldson, Dr. Warnock and Dr. Chester).
