Important Coronavirus Update from Life West

Life Chiropractic College West - Northern California

The coronavirus is still getting a lot of attention in the media locally and around the world. Alameda County, our home, still reports no known cases and is considered a low-risk area. The college has received many communications from public health and educational organizations about what can be done to prevent the spread of the virus. All of these sources still state that the best prevention is to wash your hands and be sure to cover your mouth if you sneeze or cough. Additionally, if you are sick, especially if you have a fever, don’t come to work or school. Interns, if you are sick, do not come to the Health Center. If your patients have a fever, they should not come in until the fever has subsided.

Life West is also taking steps to protect students, faculty, staff and Health Center patients from viruses such as the coronavirus. The school’s facilities department is hard at work using an ultrasonic sanitizing tool to sanitize the Fitness Center plus every adjusting table, classroom desk and cafe table on campus. Also, the adjusting equipment in the Health Center is sanitized every morning from 7 – 8 am. The equipment that is used is rated to kill COVID-19 as well as other viruses and also complies with the college’s “green” initiatives so has a low toxicity.

Life West has a service trip to Tonga planned for later this month. The school is monitoring the situation in Tonga. Life West will comply with the Tongan Ministry of Health as we prepare for our trip, but at this time, Tonga is also considered a low-risk area with no confirmed cases.

Life West remains in a low risk area and we want to continue to be careful and responsible. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to address these to the Health Center Administration (Dr. Donaldson, Dr. Chester or Dr. Warnock).
