A Life Rooted in Healing and Adventure
When Dr. Alejandra Robles isn’t teaching or seeing patients at her practice in San Francisco, she’s out exploring the world—hiking through national parks, backpacking through the wilderness, or spending time with her 86-year-old mother. She has a passion for nature, creativity, and physical challenge, having climbed Yosemite’s Half Dome and embarked on a solo road trip through five National Parks, including the Grand Canyon and Zion’s Angel’s Landing.
While chiropractic is at the heart of her career, Dr. Robles has found a way to balance multiple passions. From training guide dogs to running a successful Mexican food business with her mother, she embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that Life West encourages in its students.
Her Chiropractic Journey
Dr. Robles’ path to chiropractic was driven by a deep desire to help people take control of their health. After earning a B.S. in Kinesiology from San Diego State University, she attended Life West, where she graduated in 2004. Over the past 20+ years, she has built a thriving practice and developed expertise in Diversified, Drop Table, SLI, Extremities, Cranial-Nasal Specific Technique, and more.
“Not only does my training as a chiropractor allow me to help others physically feel better, but I also get to help people shift their perspective, de-stress, and live happier lives,” she shares.
Teaching at Life West
For the past 2.5 years, Dr. Robles has been a dedicated educator at Life West, teaching Adjunctive Care-1 Spine, Biomechanics of the Spine, and Diversified 2. Her students know her as a challenging but engaging professor who encourages critical thinking and real-world application of chiropractic principles.
“My students say I’m a tough teacher because I make them think critically rather than just memorize,” she says. “But many have told me how much they enjoy my classes and how fun learning can be when we work together.”
What makes Life West unique for her? “I love the independence I have as an educator. My colleagues and supervisors fully support me, and I have the freedom to bring my real-world experience into the classroom.”
Words of Wisdom for Students
Dr. Robles’ advice to Life West students is simple yet powerful:
“Breathe and don’t overthink. You have an entire school of teachers and classmates who have your back and want you to succeed.”
She also lives by the Spanish saying, “Una acción vale más que mil palabras”—which means “Actions speak louder than words.” To her, it’s a reminder that what we do defines us far more than what we say.
