Life West Women’s Rugby are National Champions once again.
The Gladiatrix captured the 2026 USA Club Rugby Women’s Division II National Championship following a postseason run defined by resilience, discipline, grit, and an unwavering commitment to one another.
The title marks another major milestone for one of the country’s most respected rugby programs and reflects the culture, intensity, and unity that continue to define Life West Rugby.
Throughout the season, the team committed countless hours to training, sharpening every detail of their game while building strong connections both on and off the field. Blending veteran leadership with an emerging wave of young talent, the team battled adversity throughout the postseason and continued to rise to every challenge.
Even while competing with limited numbers during Regionals and Nationals, the Gladiatrix leaned into discipline, trust, and belief in one another.
Captain Aly Namosimalua reflected on the journey:
Winning a national title is a testament to the hard work these women have put in. Less than a year ago, we struggled just to earn a seed at 7s Nationals and finished 7th in the nation. Now, with only 18 players, we’ve fought our way to becoming 15s National Champions.
The Life West Women embody everything it means to be true Gladiatorx!

That resilience was fully displayed during the National Semifinal against Milwaukee Scylla. After entering halftime trailing 15–17, Life West exploded in the second half behind dominant performances from Tapaita Satini, Alia Simmonds, Louise Gabele, D’Ondra Bomar, Angie Olukunmi, and Namosimalua to secure a commanding 53–24 victory and advance to the National Championship Final.
Awaiting them in the championship match was Tampa Krewe.
Life West came out fast, with early tries from Janessa Ibarra Prado and Mariko Moore helping establish momentum. After a tightly contested second half battle, Satini broke through in the 59th minute to extend the lead before sealing the championship with a final try in the 82nd minute. Life West secured the National Championship with a hard-fought 22–12 victory.

Championship Match MVP Tapaita Satini reflected on the meaning of the moment:
Winning MVP was something I’m truly grateful for, but becoming National Champions as a team meant even more because no success is ever achieved alone. It came through discipline, sacrifice, trust, faith, and the support of people — my team, coaches, trainers, family, and friends — all working toward one shared goal.
Every victory throughout the postseason was earned through perseverance, adaptability, and relentless effort under pressure. Match after match, the Gladiatrix continued to trust one another and respond when it mattered most.

This championship not only celebrates a national title, but also the continued growth and legacy of the Life West Rugby program.
Next up: the upcoming 7s season and another opportunity for the Gladiatrix to compete on the national stage.
