Dr. Carl Dieter Philosophy Scholarship

One Award of $500 awarded every quarter

Dr. Carl Dieter served for many years as chairman of the board of directors for Life Chiropractic College West. Chiropractic philosophy and communication of these principlesto the public has always been important to Dr. Dieter. We are pleased to provide this important scholarship and for your participation.

Scholarship Criteria:

Award is available to a student currently enrolled in Clinical Inspired Learning (CIL) 3 course (typically 3rd quarter).
Applicant must be in good standing with all offices on campus.
Requires a 500-word essay (see below).

Essay Requirements

Attach a 500 maximumword essay on the topic of communicating chiropractic philosophy to the lay person/people. Submit application and essay to the financial aid office by the posted deadline.

Essay Scoring Rubric

Context – Possible 25 points:
- Accomplished — 19 – 25 points
- Good — 13 – 18 points
- Satisfactory — 6 – 12 points
- Needs Improvement — 0 – 5 points
Syntax & Grammar – Possible 25 points:
- Accomplished — 19 – 25 points
- Good — 13 – 18 points
- Satisfactory — 6 – 12 points
- Needs Improvement — 0 – 5 points
Content – Possible 50 points:
- Accomplished — 38 – 50 points
- Good — 25 – 37 points
- Satisfactory — 12 – 24 points
- Needs Improvement — 0 – 11 points

Deadline

Application deadlines for 2026-27 (summer 26 – 8/5/26, fall 26 – 10/28/26, winter 27 – 2/3/27 and spring 27 – 4/28/27. All required documents must be submitted online via the links. The Life West Scholarship committee will review/score the applicants based in the above rubric.
