Clinical Excellence in Chiropractic Scholarship

• Demonstrated passion for clinical excellence in chiropractic care
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical skills and chiropractic adjusting, as observed by faculty or through clinic performance reviews.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency with a focus on using advanced chiropractic adjusting techniques, including:

• • Precision in spinal adjustments
  • Patient-centered care in clinical settings
  • The use of clear criteria (indicators) to determine where to adjust, including but not limited to:
    • a care plan based upon the presence of spinal subluxations
    • a clear system of analysis to determine if there are subluxations present or not
    • clear indicators to determine when and where to put a force into the spine
    • assessment of the impact they have made on the spine and nervous system
    • professionalism in all patient interactions.

• Good academic standing, with no probationary or ethical issues outstanding

To apply, students must submit the following:

1. Essay on Insuring Excellence and Competency for Spinal Adjusting (max.
   500 words) with specific evidence of determination of when, where and how to adjust and serve the patient. How to know that you have accomplished your objective?
2. Video Application Submission: Applicants must submit a video (maximum length of 20 minutes) that show adjusting skills and demonstrate competency for clinical excellence in chiropractic care while remaining patient-centered, specifically focusing on technical application and skills in adjusting.
3. Letter of Recommendation: One letter of recommendation from a licensed
   chiropractor or faculty member that assesses the student’s use of clear indicators to determine areas that need the adjustment and rational and critical thinking of how to determine what to do in a given visit. The student must not only determine indicators but provide global rationale for care decisions, and remain sensitive to patient needs through verbal responses and physiological cues.
4. Service and Leadership: A summary of their involvement in service and extracurricular activities within the last two years, both within and outside of LCCW, showing effort to go above and beyond the classroom, either in clubs or seminars.
