DCs: Join Life West on a service trip like no other. Help expand chiropractic to the people of India during this Sant Nirankari Mission event that draws more than a million people.
Life Chiropractic College West is honored to support expanding chiropractic care in India, a nation rich in tradition and deeply receptive to chiropractic’s vitalistic message. We travel to India with a group of student interns, mentor DCs, and faculty from Life West five times each year.
Three of our India Service Trips are coordinated with Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya (KSV), a physiotherapy college in the state of Gujarat. You can learn more about those chiropractic service trips here.
Twice each year, we travel to India for a wholly different trip – collaborating with the India Association of Chiropractic Doctors (IACD) and the Sant Nirankari Mission to offer care at major spiritual retreats, or “Samagams,” each drawing over 1.5 million attendees and staffed by 60,000 volunteers. Learn more about those two trips below.
The Sant Nirankari Samagams are events held by the Sant Nirankari Mission, a spiritual organization in Delhi, India. The mission’s goal is to, “unite people for the sake of humanity and to promote world peace”, and it’s a mission that intertwines so clearly with Life West’s ethos, “Give. Do. Love. Serve”.
Life West participates in two different Samagam events: the annual Sant Samagam, typically held in November, and the Bhakti Parv Samagam, typically held in January. For all intents and purposes, both events are pop-up cities in which more than 1.5 million participants come to both celebrate and connect spiritually with the mission and to seek healthcare services they would likely not have access to otherwise.
With only about 10 full-time chiropractors for 1.2 billion people, there is a strong demand for this unique form of healthcare in India, and the Samagam events create an ideal opportunity to spread this vitalistic care to as many as possible in a short period of time.
It’s important to know that each service trip is different. Attendees should consult their trip’s detailed packet for all information specific to the trip they’re attending. That said, below you’ll find a representative itinerary for our India Samagam trip.
