LIFE CHIROPRACTIC COLLEGE WEST CELEBRATES 120 YEARS OF CHIROPRACTIC

Life Chiropractic College West (Life West) celebrated 120 years since the founding of chiropractic in 1895.

In honor of this landmark, Life West hosted a week-long celebration for its student body, staff, faculty and the larger local community on September 14-18th.

Monday’s festivities kicked off with a Talk the ‘Tic lunch discussion featuring insight into the Science, Art and Philosophy of the profession. Speakers included Life West faculty members; Dr. Monique Andrews (Basic Science Chair), Dr. Louis Tiscareno (Clinic Faculty) and Dr. David Browning (ChiroSci Technique Chair). The celebration continued on Tuesday with a chiropractic documentary film where staff, faculty and students brought lunch and enjoyed the movie “From Simple Beginnings.” Mid-week, the soon-to-be-opened chiropractic museum provided special access to their replica of DD Palmer’s office in Davenport, IA. On Thursday, staff, faculty and students had the opportunity to hear the riveting journey of Dr. Wesdorf, who practiced for 67 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. Closing off the week’s celebrations was the Friday Health Center Clinic recognition awards followed by cake in honor of the first chiropractic adjustment.

“Celebrating 120 years of chiropractic is an extraordinary achievement. To current and former staff, faculty and students, our alumni and tribes, our partners and all those coming to study or work in chiropractic in the next 120 years, I thank, welcome and congratulate you,” Life West President Dr. Brian Kelly said. “The level of accomplishment of chiropractic in its history is widely felt and acknowledged across the chiropractic community and well beyond. And for this, we at Life West thank every participant in chiropractic’s amazing 120-year journey.”
