Spring For Life

Spring for Life is a beloved annual campus event that allows the Life West students, faculty and staff to intermingle in a day filled with exceptional chiropractic content and that famous Life West community feeling. The student council selected the theme for this year’s Spring for Life with a focus on the business trifecta of Headspace, Nitty Gritty, and Application.

At Life West, we love to encourage our students to tap into their creativity.  Our students responded with enthusiasm to the annual Spring for Life logo contest. Christine Nguyen was the winner of the contest. She was awarded a cash prize and saw her logo design showcased in Sid Square and in all the event promotional materials.

The day of festivities kicked off early in the Standard Process Assembly Hall as the tribe listened to speakers on a wide array of topics that centered on the business aspect of chiropractic. The speaker list was comprised of Life West students, and David Rainer, and Life West faculty, Dr. Ankur Tayal, Dr. Lauren Clum-Philips, and Dr. Jack Bourla. A special guest, Dr. Alok Trivedi, traveled from Canada to present as the morning’s keynote speaker.

Spring for Life showcases awards and scholarships for our community. The President of Standard Process Northern California, Justin Toal, awarded Life West student Daryn Rainer, with the Dr. Michael Dobbins Scholarship. The recipient of this annual scholarship exemplifies the passion for chiropractic and whole food nutrition.

The Life West Student Council chose awards to recognize exceptional performances in Life West faculty and staff. Dr. Sue Ray, Dr. Andrea Mavolli, Dr. Tamara MacIntyre, Dr. Savannah Shortz, and Jackie Biron were awarded a certificate of recognition and gratitude from the Student Council.

After the morning speaker portion of the event — students, faculty, and staff packed up and headed to Lake Elizabeth Park for a picnic and fun in the sun.The Student Council provided food and plenty of activities for the tribe to enjoy, including flag football, cornhole, tug-of-war, slack roping, pinatas and more. Everybody received raffle tickets upon entry to Spring For Life and had the chance to win prizes ranging from Amazon, Costco and Starbucks gift cards, to adjusting equipment, and the grand prize of a Vitamix blender.

The Spring for Life event spans nearly two decades at Life West. The event continues to be a fundamental day the Life West tribe looks forward to every year. This year was no exception.
