Due to the rainy and muddy conditions there was very little onsite work done last week on the Courtyard project. This week, work will continue on installation of irrigation and underground electrical conduits. Please continue to avoid the immediate construction area.Work continues on the gymnasium upgrade project as well. Our new doors and structural steel components are being fabricated off site and will be delivered here after they are properly inspected. The gymnasium is closed to all until the completion of the project.
Last weekend, we installed four new HVAC units which will upgrade the classroom experience in rooms 149, 153, 155A and 155B. These new, modern units allow for better temperature control with in-room overrides along with greater control to mitigate issues with elevated CO2 levels. by constantly adjusting the input of fresh outside air.
Also, this week will see the completion of the installation of new electronic thermostats throughout the Student Health Center, Health Center Admin, Office of Academic Affairs, Cafe, and Academic Success Center. This completes a two-year project to modernize the 48 year old HVAC system in the entire front building for greater comfort and energy efficiency.
