Life West Daily Communication: March 23, 2020
Dear Life West Community,
As we settle into the second week of “shelter in place,” we want you to know that the college is in great shape. Faculty members are working hard to transition their winter finals along with next quarter’s learning materials and course work into Canvas. Staff members are meeting regularly through Google suite functionality and keeping all college projects and operations on track. Orientation for our new spring class is being prepared in Canvas, and we are excited to be able to welcome our incoming DC2Bs in our online space.
For Students: April Boards Canceled: NBCE has canceled Part I Boards for April 18th -19th. If you were scheduled to take this exam, you will have received an email this afternoon. In case you missed it, download it here. We strongly encourage you to visit mynbce.org/examinfo for the most up-to-date information about COVID-19’s impact on all upcoming Board exams. The NBCE is aware of the critical timing to release Boards being taken, and they will notify you and the College once the dates are confirmed.
OAA Updates: Financial Aid: In order to secure and receive your Financial Aid check, you must complete the form no later than Thursday, March 26th. If you do not complete the form, you may experience a delay in receiving your money by a week.

Health Center: Today was the first day back in operation. Our faculty, staff, interns and patients have been very cooperative with the new processes we have in place to ensure safety. We look forward to continuing to work together during the next few days this week to continue to test our processes and best understand how to move forward. For everyone on campus, you should complete the screening process. Thanks to our amazing staff and faculty for all the hard work!
Information Update: Chiropractic and the Immune Function
Click to download an ICA review published last week on chiropractic and the immune function. It reflects on the fact that while no claims can be made about COVID-19 and chiropractic, all the experts in public health have been promoting the need to use every means available to support one’s immune system during the pandemic.
Staff and Faculty Benefits Reminder: Anthem Blue Cross offers members an opportunity to see a doctor through a live video chat by using LiveHealth Online. Doctors are trained and available to answer questions, and may screen for COVID-19. To learn more visit anthem.com
GIVE, DO, LOVE, SERVE: Life West is aware of the threat of COVID-19, the new coronavirus. Given the risk, you might still choose to support and serve your communities. If you have made a decision to GIVE, DO, LOVE, SERVE by volunteering at any one of the following agencies, we invite you to share your story.
(Note: Your individual, voluntary, non-work-related service at any of the following agencies is different from the Life West Staff Service Policy that provides the opportunity for departments to volunteer at a 501c3.)
